I. Electricity consumption caused by scaling of pool open cooling tower (electricity consumption for more than one year is 240000 yuan)
The water used for tower opening is open, which is easy to scale, resulting in the increase of furnace heating time and molten steel tapping time and waste of electricity. Engineering examples:
A Zhejiang boss in Shandong purchased a set of 6000KW/12 ton medium frequency induction furnace, built a 3 m/600m3 reinforced concrete pool with a depth of 3 m/600m3, and added an ordinary circular cooling tower with mud pollutants and moss grass up to 30cm thick under the pool. After completion, the cooling tower cannot be used again every three months of operation. All cooling tower fillers scale, water cannot flow through, and scale 1/4 in the circulating cooling system, the water temperature is as high as 75 ℃, and the whole system often alarms. The normal molten steel tapping time of the 6000KW-12T medium frequency electric furnace is 90 minutes, while the tapping time of the furnace is 120 minutes, which is extended by 30 minutes, which is equivalent to the 1/3 time. We do not talk about other losses such as a set of 12T electric furnace water pump and cooling tower. We only calculate that the 6000KW electric furnace will use 200 degrees of electricity more for tapping the molten steel for 30 minutes, and the calculated electricity price is 0.4 yuan/degree, every day, 800 yuan's electricity bill is wasted. According to the calculation of 300 days per year, the electricity bill for more than one year is 240000 yuan. Experts estimate that the 12T electric furnace and wearing parts together lost more than 300,000 yuan. Later, after recommend by experts, the steel mill canceled the original open cooling tower and water pool after purchasing FBN- T type closed soft water circulating cooler of our company. after our company cleaned the whole system of the steel mill with chemical agent twice and washed it three times to replace pure water, the whole system was operated normally, the discharging time was 95 minutes, and the electrical loss was controlled within the normal range.

1. Pool cost
Open cooling tower: must dig pool.

Closed cooling tower: no need to build a pool.
2. Equipment maintenance cost

After each three months of use of the open cooling tower, there are 30cm thick mud pollutants and moss grass under the pool, causing all the cooling tower packing to scale, water cannot flow through, and affecting production. Therefore, the cooling tower filling material must be replaced regularly and the pool must be cleaned, resulting in a corresponding increase in cost.
